A Proposal for Launching a Reciprocal Translation Program
July 22, 2012
Dear Sir/Madam,
With a view to establishing a better channel for introducing excellent literary works of all nations, to promoting and disseminating all excellent cultures, and to helping readers around the world broaden their horizons and acquire wisdom, supplying their increasingly anxious souls with healthful spiritual food so that they live in genuine happiness and harmony, we propose to embark on a Reciprocal Translation Program (RTP) in cooperation with writers all across the world.
We suggest that each party recommend works by outstanding writers from their own country, translate and publish works recommended by the other party, study and publicize the introduced works. This, we believe, will make full use of literary publishing resources of both countries, contribute to the mutual exchange and blooming of good literary works, and make more masterpieces available to readers from other countries. Chinese readers are large in number; besides, we have sufficient publishing, distributing, and publicizing resources.
We appreciate your recognition of and support for our proposal for RTP. We would love to work with people of like mind to pass down the torch of wisdom and facilitate the progress of world literature.
Please email suonanzhuoma1988@163.com if you are interested or have any questions. Thank you very much.
Yours sincerely,
