Navel fire warm happy self-burning 7

The “Navel fire warm happy self-burning” of Shangpa Kagyu is divided into five parts, respectively: meditating mystic heat body, meditating to use mystic heat as clothes, meditating to use mystic heat as food, meditating to use mystic heat as pad; superior empowerment.

Jianggong Guru edified:

One of important bases of meditating mystic heat is Treasure Bottle Qi. The Treasure Bottle Qi brought among navel is also called “Merging Treasure Bottle Qi”, which is because the wisdom Qi in the heart wheel and secret wheel merges here, adding onto the wisdom Qi in the navel wheel. After completing meditation, one can always hold bottle Qi without being affected by opening the mouth to speak; also there is Merging Treasure Bottle Qi naturally among the navel at all times. In the Shangpa Kagyu lineage, one guru could hold a breath of bottle Qi for 25 days, and another could hold it for as long as a month! Because Treasure Bottle Qi is very important in the Perfection Stage, therefore, it has to be achieved! According to the length of time Qi is held, Treasure Bottle Qi is divided into small, medium and large. A meditator can start mystic heat meditation after achieving Small Treasure Bottle Qi, but the requirement is that they are able to freely hold large Treasure Bottle Qi eventually. There are quite a few supplementary and error-correcting methods during meditating Treasure Bottle Qi, like 9 Node Buddha Wind etc. The detailed meditation method for Treasure Bottle Qi is not appropriate to announce here, therefore, it is omitted.

Meditating mystic heat body: in the formal practice of this dharma, a meditator visualizes themselves as the body of Red Vajra Yogin and sit on the seating futon in a special posture called the mystic heat six oven posture, then concentrate in meditating according to secret keys of visualization transmitted by guru. During meditation, a meditator will experience the four happiness, and also the four emptiness accompanying the four happiness. The four happiness refer to happiness, exceeding happiness, superior happiness and co-living happiness; the four emptiness refer to emptiness, extreme emptiness, great emptiness, and all emptiness. This specialised terminology for meditation and realization can be found in reference books such as the Buddhism Dictionary, therefore, I will not explain one by one in this book which only gives an extremely brief explanation.
