Xue Mo, was born Liangzhou Gansu Province in 1963, top notch Chinese writer, bearing Shangpa Kagyu heritage of Tibetan Buddhism, a Mahamudra yogis, and serves as the dean of Guangzhou Shangpa Kagyu Culture Institute.

Xue Mo has two identities: writer and yogis. Xue Mo is a famous writer, created the spiritual biography " Desert Trilogy" ("A Cult of Vast Desert", "Hunting Ground" and "White Tiger’s Gate" ) representing western farming civilization and "Soul Trilogy "( "Curse of Xi Xia", "the Wolf of Xi Xia", "Eternal Vajrasattva") which are the soul pioneering works of contemporary literature through Tibetan Buddhism, " These books were in "Mao Dun Literature Award" finalists, won “the Third Feng Mu Prize for Literature”, “Shanghai Excellent Works Award For Long Novella "and a dozen of other major awards. In the seminar organized by the Chinese Writers' Association in 2011 for Xue Mo, critics agreed that, Xue Mo is "seriously underestimated", the writer deserves "being able to enter the vision of world literature".

Xue Mo is also a yogis retreating for more than 20 years practicing Mahamudra, as the inheritor of Shangpa Kagyu linage of Tibetan Buddhism, he is known as "the father of contemporary Mahamudra", "Contemporary Dharma”. Xue Mo has clear answers to the questions regarding the spirit confusion and soul anxiety of Chinese people after getting material prosperity from the stand point of traditional Buddhism wisdom. On the edge of the Tengger Desert in western China, there is a small village named as Sandy Bay, A man named Lao Shun, had three sons and a daughter. For supporting his brother to school, the eldest son HanTou had to leave school early to sell labors. The second son Mengzi is not good at study, also left school to work in agriculture. The youngest son LingGuan graduating from agricultural school did not go to college, and returned home. Because of poverty, HanTou cannot afford to marry a wife, Lao Shun made a deal with a neighbor to get HanTou marry Ying’er, the neighbor’s daughter, and then get LanLan, his draught to marry to BaiFu, the neighbor’s son.  Married, LanLan gave birth to a daughter, BaiFu has gambling habit, also beat his wife, LanLan's marriage is most unfortunate. Ying’er is the "Flower Fairy" of the village, she fell in love with LingGuan. HanTou, a decade ago to save a drowning girl, jumped into the icy water, made some unspeakable disease, and he had strong self-esteeming before Ying’er, soon after the marriage, he was suffering from liver cancer , the family run out the money for treatment, dying. LingGuan cannot afford a conscience, away from home. Yinger gave birth to her son and LingGuan and waiting LingGuan to come back became her reason to live.

Close to the desert, but also because of ecological destruction, dust storms always patronize the village. When wind blows, sand, water, pressure housing, buried crops, a serious threat to the villagers survival...

Summary:

It is a book exploring nightmare like fiction, suffering of mankind, arriving to the limits of narration and reflection, exploring the possibility of human beings relying on faith to go beyond the suffering of soul and redemption.

The records on the civilization of the Xi Xia, is very rare, especially from the official history point of view. By a chance, in a cave named Vajrasattva in the western desert town Liangzhou unearthed eight pieces of manuscripts left over by the Xi Xia. These manuscripts record the history of a village called " Diamond", one of the main line is called "Joan" a Xi Xia monks, the other is called of XueYu’er, a woman. Joan and XueYu’er are always in each other's dreams, waiting for each other to find each other, they suffered their unbearable suffering in the Tibetan Buddhist practice and the man and woman go beyond the suffering via a joint practice of a coupler and achieved enlightening.   .

Through the interpretation of these manuscripts of Xi Xia period, with the seemingly absurd practices, through time and space, life and death, soul and body, showing a little-known western cultural landscape, such as Tibetan Buddhism vocal incantation, the western villagers to fight the enemy, stripping of life human’s skin to produce the instruments, women riding on a wooden donkey going through the streets, Tibetan Buddhist joint practice of man and woman, and so on. That wolf, the ancestors of the Tibetan mastiff, comes from the ancient, flourishes in Xi Xia; is vigorous and full of extremely bravery.

Black Generals in the Mongol armies was under siege, the state was broken, but the descendants fled to a mysterious utopia in the Qilian Mountain, and lived there for thousands of years. Its heritage, through thousands of years of history hasn’t been changed, however, because of some kind of fracture on the heritage, the culture is like a glimmer of candlelight, and it is difficult to carry forward the majority.

In the novel, there is a Hakka woman in the south tried to find the “Wolf" which is the descendants of Xi Xia God mastiff, comes across the western black singer, said that he is the carrier spirit of Xi Xia General of Black water country, and the spirit has been maintained in a unique form, from generation to generation completion of his vow of compassion.

The black singer has always wanted to get the culture flourish inherited from black general. He takes lifelong effort to find legendary eternal Pure Land. After a lot of hard work, but found the Holy Land, in fact, is a replica of the home - Liangzhou.

The black singer looking for eternity and Hakka woman looking for the wolf, these two meet each other one day, hence the eastern and western culture in a historical point is mysteriously fit, full of glory.

Summary:

The predecessor of the novel is "Biography of Khyungpo Naljor", an text records of thousands of years the existence of the mysterious Fuzang. Relying on his retreating for more than 20 years practicing Mahamudra, the writer Xue Mo, simply runs into a dialogue with Khyungpo Naljor in a mysterious moment, disclosing the hidden history.

The Khyungpo Naljor is one of the greatest figures in the history of Tibet, regarded as Master Xuan Zang of the snow-area.
