General Statement on the “Five Golden Dharma of Niguma”(1)

The Five Great Vajra Integrative Meditation Dharma is abbreviated to the Five Golden Dharma, and is the singularly honoured great dharma in Anuttara Yoga. As mentioned before, this dharma was directly entreated from the reward-body Buddha Vajra Dhara by the Wisdom Dakini Niguma, who flew in her flesh body to the Dakini Vajra Buddha Kingdom in Heaven of Ultimate Form. After receiving dharma transmission, she attained Buddhahood without meditation, therefore it is also called the “Five Golden Dharma of Niguma”.

The “Five Great Vajra” consists of father tantra Guhyasamaja, mother tantra Mahamaya, Hevajra, Chakrasambhava, and father tantra Yamantaka. The Five Great Vajras represent the reward-body Buddha of the five directions, and is the integrative representation and reflection of body, language, thought, virtues, and career of Buddha of the Past, Present and Future, and is the core of tantra. In Tibetan Buddhism, the five great Vajras each have their individual dharma meditation system, but if (a yogi) has the Yuan to meditate Five Great Vajra Integrative Meditation Dharma, it is same as meditating the cream of all tantra in Vajrayana. People of upper root can attain the highest Buddhahood in 6 months of retreat.

There are many explanations of “Vajra” and “Vajrayana”:

Some say that the original meaning of vajra is electric light, and is the weapon of heavenly god Yituoluo (the weapon is vajra), representing fearlessness and indestructibility. Some say that when Yin and Yang are unseparated, it is called Vajra. Some say that there are 7 superior meanings of Vajra: 1-firm, 2-essence, 3-true and not empty, 4 cannot be cut off, 5 cannot be broken, 6 cannot be divided, 7 nothing can be damaged. Therefore Vajra is often used as an analogy of the Three Bodies of Buddha, which cannot be damaged by anything, also indicating that it can cut through wrong thinking, perceiving the heart and seeing the true nature. Vajra is also an analogy for the unparalleled empty wisdom of Buddha. If people have Vajra wisdom, then everything will become exceptionally familiar, emptiness and completeness are without difference, Vajra Samadhi, able to perish all frustration, karma and confusion without exception.

Time Wheel Root Brief Tantra Nondirty Light Explanation states, “The Vajra in Vajrayana means that the emptiness and mercy arising from the dharma nature have no difference, or the indifferentiability of emptiness and joy. Saving means manipulating path; indifferentiable emptiness and joy, greed meaning.” “Vajra, firm and unperishing, the vehicle of vajra is named Vajrayana. Integrating the True Words vehicle and Prajna vehicle is merging the nature of result and the nature of cause into one body.” Collective Secret Later Tantra states, “Vajra, the one integrating all Mahayana, is Prajna Six Redemptions; the integration of the Six Redemptions is skill and wisdom; Bodhi-chitta integrates the Six Redemptions, skill, and wisdom into one body, and is the zen concentration of Vajra Bodhisattva, therefore, it is called Vajra. Vajra is also the vehicle; therefore, it is called Vajrayana.”
