Navel fire warm happy self-burning(1)
Navel fire warm happy self-burning is the first part of the root six dharma of Niguma in the Perfection Stage of the “Five Golden Dharma of Niguma”. There are explanations about the six dharma from great saints of every generation. As the honorable Marpa said in Amrita River “meditating and achieving Buddhahood is the strong firing and illusory body, not meditating and also achieving Buddhahood is re-birth and the karma print, achieving Buddhahood from entering dreams is dream illusion and brightness, achieving Buddha from self-nature consciousness is Bardo and the Great Seal.” Master Reaching advocated what is known as the “three kinds of merging” and “nine kinds of merging re-birth”: greed merges with great joy, meditating strong firing; anger merges with non-real, meditating the illusory body; foolishness merges with non-discrimination, meditating brightness; strong fire merges with the illusory body, meditated in daytime; the dream state merges with brightness, meditated at night; bardo merges with re-birth, meditated right before death; progressive pudgala meditate strong fire, lazy ones meditate the dream state, short-lived persons meditate re-birth and merging etc; 9 dharma in total.
Most people know the “Six Dharma of Naropa” but few know the “Root Six Dharma of Niguma”. Although there are similarities between the two, the “Six Dharma of Niguma” is more refined.
“Navel fire warm happy self-burning” is also called mystic heat and strong fire etc. Mr. Liu Liqian said in The Kagyu Lineage of Tibetan Buddhism “Mystic heat is also translated as Strong Firing. The essential meaning of mystic heat is to induce the arising of the wisdom of co-living emptiness and happiness, the ultimate result of mystic heat can induce the arising of the happy empty Great Seal which leaves all drama argument phases, attaining ultimate liberation, this is the dharma combining the paths of skilfulness and liberation.”
