Chakrasambhava is also called “Sheng-le-jin-gang” and belongs to the mother tantra. The commonly seen Chakrasambhava is four faced and 12 armed. Every place of image has symbolic meaning. For example, the 12 arms represent the 12 truths, which are used to overcome the 12 Yuan-arising; the crossed Vajra above the Buddha crowns symbolize perfection in both dharma in the world and beyond the world; the Five Buddha Crowns made of 5 human skulls symbolize the five wisdoms of Buddha. Buddha’s face is blue, with 3 eyes, symbolizing that Buddha watches over all sentient beings and possesses the wisdom of past, present and future. The hair is black, half up and half flowing, wearing a bone dharma wheel above top bun, decorated by a blue Moni pearl, shining light upon the three kingdoms; the half moon decoration under the left side of the bun symbolizes unlimited happiness which continues to increase. Earrings, necklaces, bracelets and arm decorations are all made of human bone, a belt and anklets decorated by tassel of human bone are also worn, bone ash smears the body. Grass-green ribbons drift, left and right, from the armpits. The necklace is made of 50 fresh human heads threaded on human intestines, one hundred eyes rotate and fresh blood bleeds. The revealed canine teeth symbolize the indefeatable prowess of debate. The expression reveals anger tempered with compassion, compassion for the suffering of living beings, but also anger because they do not make good. His first pair of hands embrace the consort, with a bell in the left and a vajra in the right, symbolizing wisdom and skilfulness; the 2nd pair of hands spread an elephant skin, representing the extinguishment of ignorance and the subduing of living beings; the 3rd pair of hands hold an axe in the right, subduing foolishness, and in the left a bowl containing a skull filled with blood, representing offering amrita; the 4th pair of hands hold a crescent moon blade in the right, representing the cutting of frustration by the sharp blade of wisdom, a lariat is the left hand, on one end is a Vajra and on the other a gold hook, punishing the evil and saving the kind; the 5th pair of hands hold a halberd in the right and raises Brahma’s skull with the left; the 6th pair of hands hold a hand-drum in the right which summons the Dakini, the left hand holds a staff of human bone, on the up end of which there is a vajra, a skull, and two human heads (one black and one red), representing Buddha’s three bodies and symbolizing the 3 nadi, a pair of lightening bolts are below, indicating that everything is changeable, on the lower end of the bone staff there is a vase, symbolizing all that meditators consume flow into the vase. The right leg outstretched symbolizes the preaching of Buddhist principle, indicating that after concentration is achieved, Chakrasambhava will not live in nirvana but redeem living beings and perform great deeds. The left leg bending indicates root concentration, symbolizing that Chakrasambhava does not reside in life or death. There is a terrorist under the right foot, with four hands. He holds a staff in two, and a hand-drum and three-branched halberd in the other two. He is subdued on the ground, symbolizing the subduing of anger, the conversion of outside religions and the destruction of ego. Under the left foot is the time symbol girl, her face toward the sky, with 4 hands. Two hold a staff, the third holds a human-bone bowl, and the fourth holds a staff of human bone. Subduing this girl symbolizes subduing sexual desire.
