Desert
(Howard

"Desert Hunters" Soars to the
Top on Amazon, Chinese Writer Again Capturing Global Hearts
Recently,
The English version of Chinese author Xue Mo's novel <Desert Hunters>
topped Amazon's bestseller list in three sub-categories:“Asian
literature”“Chinese historical fiction” and “Asian historical fiction”. This is
after "Desert Festival" in the Amazon digital book "bestseller
list" (Chinese historical novel) topped the list, Xue Mo’s work once again
topped Amazon.
This
haunting novel fuses gripping adventure with profound reflection on survival,
destiny, and the fragile interplay between humanity and nature. Dive into a
world where the desperate quest for water mirrors our quest for hope, and
discover how a single shift in the human spirit might spark the fate of all
humankind.
In a
vast expanse of desert and grassland, herders and hunters engage in a
life-or-death battle for the world’s most precious resource—water. Yet, as the
stakes rise and tensions mount, the greatest threat does not lurk among the
wolves or in the shifting sands, but within the depths of the human heart. For
when our hearts are clouded by ignorance, fate grows dark; when the heart
awakens, a new path unfolds.
One
critic once said that “If one day the Earth is destroyed, this book will tell
you how it happened.”
<Desert
Hunters> is the second part of Xue Mo's acclaimed Desert Trilogy (the first
is Desert Rites, the third is White Tiger Pass), which has been exquisitely
translated into English by the renowned translators Howard Goldblatt and Sylvia
Li-chun Lin, who contribute the Nobel Prize winner in Literature.
