2) Clear illusory body. All unclean appearance in the sentient instrument world is transformed into pure Yidam mandala; therefore, it is called clear illusory body. This dharma is often performed in tantra, for example, Shangpa Kagyu visualizes the self body as the heavenly body of Yidam, visualizing the world of sentient instruments as Yidam mandala that can depend and are depended on, visualizing all sounds as the mantra sound of Yidam and all thoughts as the wisdom illusory game of Yidam. Meditating like this, the superior illusory Samadhi can be raised.

3) Pure Illusory body. The body made of essential Qi of the wind heart through meditation on the two stages of creation and perfection. This is not falsely set up by discrimination, but is like round light, therefore it is called the pure illusory body. It is the illusory body of the unshared hidden meaning of highest tantra, and is the upright stage of the wind heart self blessing Tao. Its manifest form is like round light, surpassing the very subtle dust dharma nature, and is the appearance of complete clear superior wisdom. It is made by the essential Qi of the very subtle wind heart, after the crude part appearance, fine part appearance and all discriminating hearts are merged.

The honourable Dipuba said “let us say, the illusory body is the image in the mirror, the superior-meaning illusory body is the hidden place detached from obstruction, the appearance of illusory body itself is the pure good appearance of the lingering charm character, the merit of illusory body is to depend on it to subdue evil ghosts, after achieving upright enlightenment, this body can stay in emptiness to be a being.

Liu Liqian said in The Kagyu Lineage of Tibetan Buddhism

“The essence of the illusory body is to induce co-living wisdom without difference between now and emptiness. Achievement of the reward and manifested body of Buddha is based on the innate original body of the finest wind heart. There are many kinds of illusory bodies, here the illusory body of the finest wind heart of secret teachings rather than the generally perceived illusory unreal body is referred to as the illusory body. The secret method of illusory body meditation is to first force the ‘death being brightness’ before death to appear by the “three far departures” and “vajra reciting”. The Non-clean illusory body shows up from the innate elemental fine wind that carries great brightness. The non-clean illusory body must then be cleaned in brightness using the two quiet contemplations of “Zhengchi” and “Suimie”, letting karma wind turn into wisdom wind and the mind body turn into the innate element body. Otherwise, the Heaven of Formless and Gandhabha also have mind body, but why can they not become Buddha? Because their mind body is wind heart with karma consciousness, they will fall into samsara when the karma rewards are completed, and cannot become Buddha. The clear illusory body is the dual-practice body with co-living great joy or the perfect reward body.”
